What a year it's been! We've been busy building features to make school parent community life easier for everyone. Here are some of the highlights from the past year—check out the full list at https://www.classlist.com/support-updates
Security & Account Features
We've rolled out 2-Factor Authentication for all admin accounts this November, with parents getting access soon too. And if you're a night owl (or just prefer easier-on-the-eyes viewing), dark mode is now in beta on mobile! Both features are waiting for you in account settings.
MIS Integration Advances
Our MIS integration has come a long way. It now handles migrations as well as school applicants, and we've introduced a super speedy 3-minute move-up process. The Sync Wizard got some love in May too—it now works with different school structures and lets you invite new families before the school year even begins. Best of all? It handles user accounts automatically, so no more manual approvals and everyone lands in the right class groups.
Event Management Enhancements
Events have been getting lots of attention. We've made questions on free ticket events more visible, improved how online meeting details work with your calendar, and added the ability to manually type in addresses for those tricky locations that don't show up on Google Maps. Remember those awkwardly cropped event photos? Gone! We switched to square format in June so everything looks great everywhere. And now you'll spot the latest event invitations more easily so you never miss out.
Raffle Features
Great news for fundraisers—October brought our lowest raffle fees ever at just 4.5%! That's an extra 3% you get to keep for your cause. We also added Raffle Chat in April, so you can keep the conversation going with parents and answer their questions right in the raffle.
Communication Tools
We're making Classlist more inclusive for everyone with Google Translate (now in beta for announcements and posts). February brought a navigation refresh that puts your events and school information front and centre—Calendar now has its own top tab, and School Profile got a dedicated spot on the bottom menu with all your contact details, quick links, and who's who.
Admin Experience Improvements
January kicked off with three big admin wins: we split Staff Admin into two levels (Staff Admin and Staff Admin Plus) for better security, gave the Community Events list a makeover with much better detail, and reorganised things by splitting School Profile into two pages. In July, we added search and filtering for announcements, and made managing interest groups way simpler—no more switching views!
Mobile-First Transition
Since most of you are using the app these days (and loving the convenience!), we announced our shift to mobile-first back in January. It means less explaining different platforms to parents and more time for actual community building. Don't worry though—Classlist Admin is still right there on your browser for all your behind-the-scenes work.
We also made notifications prettier with images for iPhone users in May, and we've been continuously smoothing out the parent experience throughout the year.
